1. About CTSC International


        The International Association of Community TeleService Centres,
CTSC International, was created in 1989 by a number of persons with long
experience of technical co-operation in the telecom-munications field and researchers
involved in the study of the socio-economic impact of information
technology (IT) on society in general and on the less developed areas of the world in
particular.
        The Association was originally registered on 1st February 1989 in
the Republic and Canton of Geneva, Switzerland. It has moved its offices to
Nice, France, and is since January 1993 registered in France as a
non-governmental organisation, NGO, (according to French Law on Associations, issued 1 July
1901).
        The present members of the Board, elected for a four year period,
come from various parts of the world  -  Brazil, Bulgaria, Congo, Denmark,
France, Germany, Greece,   Italy,  Norway,  Poland,  Sweden  and  USA - .
        Several of the board members are actively involved in developing
tele-service centres in their home countries and in promoting this concept     
within international and regional organisations.
        The international association CTSC International has established
close contacts and co-operation  with  a number of national  and  regional
organisations.
