1. About CTSC International The International Association of Community TeleService Centres, CTSC International, was created in 1989 by a number of persons with long experience of technical co-operation in the telecom-munications field and researchers involved in the study of the socio-economic impact of information technology (IT) on society in general and on the less developed areas of the world in particular. The Association was originally registered on 1st February 1989 in the Republic and Canton of Geneva, Switzerland. It has moved its offices to Nice, France, and is since January 1993 registered in France as a non-governmental organisation, NGO, (according to French Law on Associations, issued 1 July 1901). The present members of the Board, elected for a four year period, come from various parts of the world - Brazil, Bulgaria, Congo, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Norway, Poland, Sweden and USA - . Several of the board members are actively involved in developing tele-service centres in their home countries and in promoting this concept within international and regional organisations. The international association CTSC International has established close contacts and co-operation with a number of national and regional organisations.
