Black Heroes of the American Revolution

The American Revolution has long been represented by White heroes such as George Washington, Paul Revere, General Lafayette, Ethan Allen, Benjamin Franklin, and a handful of others who brought a free nation into being.

However there were other heroes that were never recognized for their work. The black American slaves fought far more than we have learned, and their deeds and courage are to be proud of. Their commitment to the creation of our country is a lesson to be remembered.

Recorded history has mainly concentrated on the white warriors, and have said next to nothing about the minimum five thousand slaves who fought important roles in the American Revolution. This is probably caused by the lack of information available; the slaves did not know how to read or write, and they left little for us to record.

Black Heroes of the American Revolution tells the intriguing stories of scores of Black men who fought in the Revolution, and was published during the Bicentennial in honor of the Revolution.

Besides being a very informative book, Black Heroes of the American Revolution is easy and fun to read. It will educate the reader as to the hidden but true facts about the black warriors of the American Revolution.

I strongly recommend this book for readers who would like to learn more about America's past and the effect of biases and racism that last centuries.
