In a nutshell, GuardBank offers you 8 basic advantages:
Advantage 1: Low minimum contributions
A lump sum of only R500 or a monthly contribution of only R100 will purchase you entry into the unit trust funds. What is more, you may split both your lump sum and your monthly contribution over more than one fund.
Advantage 2: Low charges
Our administration charges are low - and at legally determined levels. No retrospective or hidden charges destroy your investment. Phone us or one of our authorised dealers and well tell you exactly what our charges are.
Advantage 3: Fast access to your money on repurchase
Instruct us in writing and your money will be in your bank account within a few days.
Advantage 4: No cumbersome contracts
With GuardBank, youre not tied into any contracts. This means that you have complete flexibility. You can invest large or small sums. You can make regular or irregular payments - once a month, twice a month or even twice a day. The choice is yours. If you decide to stop paying - thats fine. We dont penalise you in any way at all. If you want to sell or change the amounts invested - just instruct us in writing.
Its uncomplicated to be a GuardBank unitholder.
Advantage 5: Easy comparison with the competition
The basic principle on which unit trusts operate is essentially very simple. This makes it easy to compare one unit trust with another. All unit trust management companies publish their short and long term results every three months. These results are then analysed by independent, impartial organisations such as the University of Pretoria. However, make sure you compare like with like. Funds have different objectives, so performances cannot be easily compared. Always assess the risk factor and never look at short term figures only.
Advantage 6: Ongoing, up-to-date information
Its easy to keep track of your investment. GuardBanks prices are published in the press every day, giving the price at which you buy (higher price) and the price at which you sell (lower price). whats more, we publish precise details of the portfolio of each unit trust fund every three months, so that youre kept in the picture and know how your portfolio is made up and which shares weve bought, sold and held.
Advantage 7: An outstanding track record
Guardbank unit trusts have consistently and significantly outperformed inflation for over 25 years. Although past performance isnt a guarantee of future results, it is an indication of expert, experienced and successful fund management.
Advantage 8: An impeccable pedigree
GuardBank unit trusts are backed by two of South Africas most solid financial institutions - the Liberty Life Group and the First National Bank Group. First National Bank of Southern Africa act as your trustee.
