provide national school aiding loan
to prevent students from being forced to leave school
by economic reason. The first group of loan was issued
out in September 1999. By June 2002, the total number
of student loan applicator reached 1.125 million and
amounted for 12.5 percent of the total student number.
351000 applications have been examined and approved
by the bank and amounted for 31.2 percent of the total
applications. The loan contract amount had accumulated
to 3 billion.
The national
school-aiding loan employs a dynamic method of repaying
the capital and interest. The student can pay back
the loan (capital and interest) during his/her study
at school or within four years after graduation.
