Zhu Xi (1130-1200), famous philosopher, educator of
the South Song Dynasty. He was engaged in direct education
activities for more than 40 years. He also advocated
the establishment of local schools and institutes and
lectured there by himself. He had many disciples and
works left. Some of his works became formal textbooks
of feudal education after the South Song Dynasty and
prevailed for around 800 years in the feudal society.
His academic thinking produced great influence on the
neighboring countries of China. His works used to be
published and issued in Japan, Korea and Viet Nam.
