TO START THE GAME From the DOS prompt, change to the directory that you installed the game in. Type NOAH to start the game. Select the buttons to play the game. TO PLAY THE GAME From the main story screen, select the button of your choice: The SEARCH button will take you to the search screen. An item to search for will appear in the lower left area of the screen. If you find the item, click the mouse pointer on it and a new item to search for will appear. There are thousands of possible hidden locations for all the hidden objects. The EASY and HARD modes determine how much time you get to find the hidden object. When you are done, click the RETURN button to return to the story screen. The PUZZLE button will take you to the puzzle screen. To select a puzzle piece, click the mouse pointer on it. Then move to the place where you want the piece to be placed and click again. To un-select a piece, simple click on the piece again. The MAZE button will take you to the maze screen. Click the mouse pointer on the four arrows at the bottom center of the screen to travel through the maze. If you go the wrong way you can back up but your score will be reduced. There are dozens of mazes. The SOUND button turns the sound on and off. The 's' key will also turn the sound on and off from the other screens where there is no sound button. The CHANGE PAGE (arrow) buttons turn the page. There are 10 themes. Each theme has its own story, picture and hidden objects. The STOP button will exit the game. TROUBLESHOOTING WINDOWS PROBLEMS...'Where's Noah?' is a DOS program. You may run the game from Windows if you like. The sound and animation timing may be a little off but it should not be a problem. If you have a sound card you may have to run the game from DOS since Windows likes to control things. You must exit Windows and then run the program from DOS to make the sound card function properly. Try the game from WINDOWS if you like and see if it works. If not, exit WINDOWS and play from DOS. Make sure you have a mouse driver loaded from your AUTOEXEC.BAT file if you play from DOS. MEMORY PROBLEMS...You must have about 512K free memory for the game to run. If you receive the out of memory error then you must free some up and then try again. Refer to your DOS manual on ways to free up some more memory. The out of memory error refers to RAM in your machine, not free space on your hard disk. SOUND CARD PROBLEMS...If you have a sound card and the game locks up make sure the settings for the sound card during the start of the program match your settings on the card. If the settings shown on the startup screen don't match your card then you can change them by clicking on the CHANGE buttons. If you still have problems then run the game without the sound card by selecting NO on the startup screen. Have fun, Michael Gale
