Battleship version 1.2 Readme File by James Boer ============================================================================= This is a freeware game. Registration only costs a stamp. This game requires VGA and 256K free memory to run. Sound cards supported are SoundBlaster (and 100% compatibles), Sound Blaster Pro, Roland MT-32, and General MIDI devices(in theory. I haven't found a Roland or other MIDI card to test on. If anyone has one of these devices, let me know if you hear any music, OK?) In version 1.1, I got a lot of FAXes and letters from people who were having difficulty getting the game to run properly. The majority of them were running the game from either a DOS menu program or from Windows. The game should now run correctly from any DOS menu system. Note to Windows(tm) users: This is a DOS game, and may not run correctly under Windows. If you have a sound card, you must disable the sound in the game by running the program with the /Q argument. Sorry, but DOS and Windows sound are completely incompatible. (I may write a Windows version in the future) Additional mouse support has been added since version 1.1. You can now drag and drop the ships, and rotate them with the right button. Also, firing is accomplished with the mouse as well. I think this is much more fun than clicking on those buttons, as well as more intuitive. *** To register this software, it only costs you a stamp! *** *** Please fill out the registration form (REG_FORM.TXT) *** I would really appreciate your response if you enjoy playing my game. I put many hours of hard work into this and your responses are my only reward. If you would like to see more freeware on the market then please send this form in. Otherwise, I guess I'll have to assume that nobody is playing my games. To those who contacted me from version 1.1, thank you. I really appreciated the feedback.
