Public Libraries Increasingly, public libraries are getting hooked up to the Internet. Many set aside particular times when members of the public can use the Internet. Ask first at your local library, or contact your central library who will steer you to the nearest library with Internet access. Community Centres Some community centres or community resource centres have Internet-linked computers. These are usually owned by local community groups or voluntary organisations, through which you may be able to book time. There are also an increasing number of organisations called "Community Information Networks". These run local information services on the Internet and may have publicly-accessible computers. Local College Many colleges offer Internet courses and workshops. These can vary from part-time, day or evening courses to drop-in workshops. As well as learning about the Internet, going on a course or workshop will give you the opportunity to browse the net.
