Xaxaba means the �Island of Tall Trees� and is quite probably one of the most beautiful and unspoiled areas of the world. Xaxaba is the gateway to the wonderful and mysterious Okavango Delta whose waters pass swiftly and silently through vast beds of papyrus and countless palm-treed islands to seep eventually into the subterranean sounds of the Kalahari. Situated on Chief�s Island, Xaxaba consists of 12 reed-built twin-bedded chalets, with en suite facilities. It has a plunge pool and two bars, one of which is beautifully located overlooking the Delta. Xaxaba is ideal for bird-watching and trips through this fascinating water world are available by motorboat or mokoro.
