Tucked away in the southeastern corner of Zimbabwe lies one of the finest privately-owned game reserves in Africa. Lonestar Reserve is 98,000 acres in size and shares a common border with Gonarezhou National Park. One of the few remaining areas in Zimbabwe where rhino are still plentiful, Lonestar also hosts elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo. A wide variety of other large mammals and a great diversity of birds abound. Activities at Lonestar Reserve include early morning, afternoon and evening game drives on the property in open 4x4 vehicles, and on nature walks. The area is rich in bushmen rock art and several outstanding outdoor galleries are to be found in caves in rocky outcrops. Due to the small size of the two camps, attentive and highly personalized service is assured during your time on Lonestar Reserve.
Nduna Sandstone Lodge: This is a beautiful camp consisting of 6 stone and thatch chalets, each with two beds and en suite bathrooms. There is a communal bar and lounge area as well as a swimming pool, so all the creature comforts are on hand. The camp is set beneath shady trees on the edge of a rocky outcrop, and overlooks a small lake.
Kwali Camp: This camp is more rustic with wooden chalets accommodating 18 guests and has shared facilities. The bar and lounge overlook a large lake.
