Kings Pool Camp is located in a private reserve with a wide variety of species, most noted for its very large elephant populations. There are also good populations of impala, lechwe, kudu, zebra, giraffe, sitatunga, sable, roan, waterbuck, buffalo, bushbuck and the major predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena. The reed and papyrus swamps are ideal for numerous and diverse species of birds. Kings Pool Camp consists of 10 upmarket tented rooms with en-suite facilities. Each room is built on raised teak decks with wonderful views onto Kings Pool lagoon. This waterway has great bird life, hippos, crocodiles, bushbuck, impala, elephant, sable..etc..all being seen from the camp and the rooms on a regular basis. The aim of the design of the tents has been to ensure that each guest is totally comfortable and private, but without losing the essential flavor of a tented camp in Africa. In addition to the 9 tented rooms, is one honeymoon suite at the very end of the camp which is completely under thatch. This accommodation is still a luxury tent while the bathroom is brick and mortar under thatch. The bathrooms are the most scenic in Africa - each bathroom, equipped with shower, flush toilet and wash basin, is at right angles to the main tents and have a wonderful view overlooking the Kings Pool lagoon. The main lounge, bar and dining room is under thatch with teak flooring and decks overlooks the oxbow-shaped Kings Pool Lagoon and the Linyanti River to the north. The private reserve borders onto Chobe National Park but activities here are not limited by the rules and regulations of a national park. Activities include game drives in open safari vehicles, night drives, boat safaris and guided walks. The lodge has a double-decker boat which cruises up and down the Linyanti River offering wonderful opportunities to view game from the water. Game viewing platforms are built at key locations along the Linyanti & Savuti Rivers where guests can spend their afternoons watching for game. Game concentrations here are exceptionally high during the winter months (July-October) when the animals from the Savuti grasslands move up the Linyanti River.
