East Africa: Two million years ago, the length of Africa was cleaved
by great subterranean forces - and the Great Rift Valley was born. Cutting a swatch north to
south through Kenya and continuing on into Tanzania, it left its legacy as a string of
deep lakes, towering cliffs and a perfect habitat for wildlife and man.
More than anything else, East Africa is famous for its wildlife. Wherever the visitor goes, another
spectacular game park is never far away. Nowhere else can the visitor drive freely among
herds of game on the crater floor of a huge collapsed volcano, or float above the plains in a hot air
balloon or photograph elephant and giraffe against the snow-capped backdrop of Africa's
highest mountain. The annual migration of wildebeest and zebra between the great reserves of the
Masai Mara in Kenya and the Serengeti in Tanzania, provide the greatest wildlife show in the
world. They move in the millions, kicking up dust and attracting hungry predators. East Africa is an
adventure, an experience, that should not be missed.
