                 | Tonight's Emmy hosts are Melody Thomas Scott and 
                 | Eric Braeden from the Young & the Restless. Melody 
                 | started her acting career on a Rice Krispies commercial
                 | where she awakened to the sounds of Snap! Crackle! Pop!  
                 | When she was eight years old, she made her motion 
                 | picture debut in the Alfred Hitchcock film "Marnie," 
                 | and then starred in several other films including 
                 | "Dirty Harry" with Clint Eastwood, "Posse" with Kirk  
                 | Douglas, and "The Shootist" which was John Wayne's last   
                 | film.  Now she plays Nikki on Y&R, but in real life, 
                 | she is married to Edward Scott, the executive 
                 | producer of Y&R. 
                 | Melody's co-host is Eric Braeden, who received a 1990
                 | Emmy Award Nomination for "Outstanding Actor" for his
                 | portrayal of the powerful and manipulative Victor 
                 | Newman on Y&R. He was also honored at "The Eighteenth
                 | Annual People's Choice Awards," for most popular 
                 | daytime actor named by the fans, and in 1988 he was 
                 | "Best Actor" at the "Soap Opera Digest Awards" telecast. 
                 | Born in Kiel, West Germany, Eric came to America after 
                 | graduating high school. Soon after, he landed roles in 
                 | such films as "Operation Eichmann," and"Kraft Suspense 
                 | Theatre," and then helped open the Santa Monica Playhouse. 
                 | Later, he appeared on Broadway in "The Great Indoors" 
                 | with Curt Jurgens and Geraldine Page, and  then acted in 
                 | the popular show "The Rat Patrol," as well as in 
                 | several films including "Colossus: The Forbidden 
                 | Project," "The Ultimate Chase," "Honeymoon with a 
                 | Stranger," and "Escape From The Planet of the Apes."
