The storyline... Senior L.A. County Lifeguard Mitch Buchannon (David Hasselhoff), has been patrolling the beach for over twenty years. When his friend, Police Sergeant Garner Ellerbee (Gregory Alan-Williams), approaches Mitch with the news he is becoming a private detective, Mitch decides to help him out and invest in the agency. As it turns out, the duo get more than they bargained for...the sultry Ryan McBride, who ran the agency for it's former owner, the mysterious (and slightly shady) SHAW. Ryan quickly informs the new owners that she has no intentions of giving up her stake in the agency, and Mitch and Garner reluctantly welcome her aboard. Also joining the team, although not in an official capacity, is Garner's old friend and mentor Lou (Lou Rawls), who runs the blues club "Nights", the defacto headquarters for the group of private eyes. Things are different on Nights... While Baywatch focuses on stories that involve the day to day life of L.A.County lifeguards, Baywatch Nights explores the uncharted territory of Los Angeles' larger beach community, a community that changes at night. From Laguna to Zuma, Venice to Malibu, the beach neighborhoods thrive with a vibrancy and energy unknown to rest of the world. It is a world rife with glamour, money, hot music and sensuality. It is also a world filled with contrasts - from the mansions that dot the palisades, to the trailer parks clustered near the beach; from the young and glittering money crowds to the poor struggling immigrant; from environmental crusaders to vicious criminals with no regard for human life.
