Dual Overhead Camshaft (DOHC)

Every engine has some type of camshaft configuration. DOHC engines have two camshafts--one to operate the intake valves, one for the exhaust valves. Highly efficient with fewer moving parts, DOHC engines produce more power, have a snappier response and are capable of revving at higher RPMs than single overhead camshaft (SOHC) engines.
