Side Airbag
An airbag mounted in the front seat, the side pillar or the front door. These bags are designed to protect front-seat occupants' arms and chest from the door in the event of a side-impact. See Airbags (SRS).

Pros
Supplements standard airbags and seatbelts to provide increased protection in a side-impact accident.

Cons
Expensive to replace after they've been deployed.
