Megumi is considered a Voice Acting and j-pop superstar in Japan, comparative to the Rolling Stones' long-lived popularity. Formerly a nurse before becoming a voice actor, she has forged a blazing trail with her trip to voice acting stardom.

Among her other acheivements in Ranma 1/2, Megumi has played the role of Lina Inverse in Slayers, Rei Ayanami in Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Pai in 3x3 Eyes.

Megumi was also part of the singing group of female Ranma 1/2 Voice Actors known as DoCo.
