CITIZEN PRINTER DRIVER FOR MICROSOFT WINDOWS 3.0 Welcome to the Citizen Printer Driver Installation program. Many of the necessary steps have been automated: 1. Click on the Install button. 2. The Install program will move the various files to their required directories and make the necessary changes to the Windows 3.0 configuration files. 3. When the Install program has completed its work, it will start the Windows 3.0 Control Panel. 4. You can then use the Printers section of the Control Panel to properly configure the Printer Driver. PRINTERS CONTROL PANEL The following options must be set before you can print: 1. Printer output port (where your printer is connected) 2. Driver (must be ACTIVE) PRINTER DRIVER DEFAULTS The following options must be set before you can print: Printer Type (Options Dialog Box) Paper Feeder Type (Options Dialog Box) Color or Monochrome Ribbon (Main Dialog Box) Paper Format (Main Dialog Box) The driver has many additional features that may need to be set: Portrait or Landscape Page (Main Dialog Box) Letter or Draft Print Quality (Main Dialog Box) Resolution (Main Dialog Box) Print Margins (Main Dialog Box) Variable Top Of Form (Main Dialog Box) Fonts (Fonts Dialog Box) To learn how to properly configure the driver to take maximum advantage of Windows and your Citizen Printer, click on the "Help" button. SELECTING YOUR PRINTER 1. As described in the Windows 3.0 User's Guide, start the Printer Driver SETUP dialog box. 2. Enter the Options Dialog Box by clicking on the "Options" button. 3. To see the list of printers, click on the down arrow next to the "Printer Type" list box. 4. Click on the up and down arrows until your printer type is displayed. Click on your printer model. 5. If you do not see your printer in the list, click on the "Help" button for more information. 6. Click on the "Ok" button to return to the Main Dialog Box. HELP The Citizen Printer Driver contains an extensive HELP file. Since the HELP file is accessed with the Windows 3.0 HELP system, you can use the many HELP features described in Chapter 2 of the Windows User's Guide.
