Having an application make backups constantly as you work brings safety to
your data. With safety as the first priority, we chose to leave this option set to
zero by default, meaning that we never automatically throw anything away. This
can lead to a large amount of drive space being used, though, so we have
provided this simple method for keeping your drive clean.
To use this auto-cleaning feature in FileHamster, simply set this value to
something other than zero, such as 10, and FileHamster will automatically keep
only the specified number of newest revisions.
To ensure that your important files are always preserved, we recommend you
become familiar with the action of marking your revisions as "Protected."
Marking a revision as protected means that it will never get deleted while
FileHamster is doing automated purging of files.
See the section on Protecting Files to learn more.
