How to Backup Your CD Information


It's a good idea to backup your CDP file once in a while. That way, if you ever have a hard drive failure (knock on wood), you'll be able to recover your CD information collection without having to re-key or re-download them all.

Below are the steps to backup your CDP file:

  1. Start CD/Spectrum Pro

  2. Bring up the CD Info DB module

  3. Click the Export button

  4. Click the "CDP File (Binary)" radio button

  5. Enter an appropriate filename (this can be on a local drive, a network drive, or a floppy disk - like "a:\backup.cdp")

  6. Click Save

If you ever have a hard drive failure or otherwise lose your CDP data, you can follow these steps to restore from your backup:

  1. Start CD/Spectrum Pro

  2. Bring up the CD Info DB module

  3. Click the Import button

  4. Locate your CDP file (or type in its filename)

  5. Click Open
