How to install an Intel Pentium® OverDrive® processor in 60- or 66-MHz Pentium processor-based systems

Step 1: Ground yourself, unplug your system, and remove the cover.

Step 2: Find the original Pentium® processor. You'll need to remove it.

Step 3: If the original Pentium processor has a fan heatsink with a cable, unplug the cable. You won’t need it to install the Pentium OverDrive® processor. Unfasten any clips holding the processor and heatsink to the socket. (See Figures 1 and 2.)

Step 4: Open the socket handle and remove the original Pentium processor. Orient the Pentium OverDrive Processor so that the speed mark on the processor is next to the "S" in the socket label. (See Figure 3.)

Step 5: Close the socket handle, put the cover back on your computer, plug it in, and try out a favorite software program to experience the difference in speed. You can also test your installation by using the special diagnostic software that comes with the Pentium OverDrive processor.
