Known issues
- On any
Taiwanese/Chinese OS, the Online Help is not available in the component
list.
- On
Greek/Sloven Windows 98, the evaluation version of Norton Antivirus 2000
is not available in the component list.
- On any
Hungarian OS, the evaluation version of Norton Antivirus 2000 is not
available in the component list.
- On
Hebrew/Arabic Windows 95, the audio driver is not available in the
component list.
- On
Hebrew/Arabic Windows 95, the video driver installation leaves a question
mark in the device manager.
- HP
"Working In Comfort" files cannot be read with IE 2.0
- On
Japanese operating systems, there is no protection against the use of
keyboard and mouse. Moreover, on a Japanese Windows 2000, the installation
progress window is sometimes displayed in the background, and thus not
always visible.
- Under
NT4, with only the NetBEUI protocol installed, when you select installation
of TopTools agent, an error will be reported in the event viewer. To
resolve it, copy the file SNMPAPI.DLL to the directory \WINNT\SYSTEM32.
- On
Windows 95, if the audio driver is not selected for installation, the
system may become unstable.
- In spite
of reboot optimization, two successive reboots case can be encountered.
Known limitations
- On the Japanese version of Windows 98, the
installation of the Matrox video driver displays an error message, and the
Image Library process is halted temporarily. Click on the ‘Cancel’ button
and the process will complete. Alternatively, if performing an unattended
installation, it is enough to wait for ten minutes. In both cases, after
the next system restart, the Matrox video card is installed correctly.
- On
Windows 2000, during the final reboot, you are prompted for Matrox online
registration. This has no functional effect. Click on the ‘Don’t register’
button and the Image Library process will complete. On next system restart,
you will be prompted again for Matrox online registration.
- On
Greek/Sloven Windows 98, the IDE driver is not available in the component
list.
- The
3Com and Intel LAN drivers cannot be installed simultaneously on the same
system. By default, if an Intel LAN card is detected, its driver will be
installed.
- On
Windows 95, installing the USB supplement may change some system version
information. In that case, you will not be allowed to use Image Library
because only SR 2.5 is supported. To avoid this, please run Image Library
before you install the USB supplement. Also, note that installation of the
chipset driver renders the USB supplement unnecessary.
- When
NT4 is installed on an IDE hard disk and you have a SCSI disk without
driver, the Image Library engine will not resume the installation after a
reboot operation. To avoid this, first launch the SCSI automated
installation (Packages\NT4\Driver\SCSI\Symbios\M0102\Setup.exe), then
restart the Operating System manually.
- If you
install the HP TopTools Agent, make sure that the PC chassis is closed.
Otherwise, TopTools will generate a chassis intrusion alert that can
perturb the installation process.
- On
Windows NT 4 and 2000, if a password is set and security audit is on, then
a login failure will be reported in the event viewer.
- On
Windows 98, the final system reboot is not completely automated. Windows
will prompt you to log in and you need to respond manually to the login
dialog. Also, LAN driver installations will cause an additional system
restart with a dialog box.
- In
languages other than English, the buttons Back/Next/OK/Cancel buttons are
localized in the operating system's language, whereas the rest of the user
interface is in English only.
- It is
possible to copy this CD-ROM to a local hard disk and run it from the hard
disk or over the network (only on Windows NT4/2000). But in this case, the
directory paths cannot include any space character.
- If
there is no HP Utility Partition on the main hard disk, HP e-DiagTools
hardware diagnostics cannot be installed correctly. However, the Image
Library engine will report it as done. This is because the installation
program did run, although the copy of the files to the Utility Partition
failed.
- Under
Windows 95, if you have several partitions on your drive and one of these
drives is alphabetically after the CD-ROM drive, then the CD-ROM drive may
change during the installation process and Image Library will not resume.
In that case you can restart Image Library by running
\bin\ILInstallPkgEngine.exe on the CD-ROM. The process will then resume
completely.
- Under
some Windows 95 localizations, no USB supplement is available. The Image
Library CD does not provide an USB component.
- On
Hungarian Windows 95, eDiagTools update package is not available in the component
list and does not work in case of manual installation.

is mandatory to support any of the Matrox Video Adapters.
Comments
- The Matrox video driver supports
G200/G250/G400/G450 adapters, but the installation has been qualified for
G400/G450 only.
- When the installation of a component seems to
hang, please wait for ten minutes. Then the process will resume. The
component might be installed successfully, and following components may
install correctly.
