Resolution


Defines the fine details of the image. The higher the resolution, the better the quality of the image, and the more data required. This in turn means that greater memory is needed to record the image, which is expressed in dpi (dots per inch). For instance, the resolution of 400 dpi means that there are 400 dots in an inch. A single dot represents approximately 63.5 microns (0.0635 mm).
