Printing resolution |
The color ink jet printer works by ejecting ink particles on the printing media. The printing resolution is expressed by the number of ink particles that can be ejected per inch (approximately 25.4 mm) on the paper. For instance, a resolution of 1440 dpi means that, in the space of one inch on the paper, 1440 ink particles are ejected. The greater the number of ink particles, the finer the details of the image. There is also a corresponding increase in the time required for printing. |
