OCR (Optical Character Recognition) |
OCR equipment reads into the computer memory the printed characters of newspapers, magazines and other printed matter. OCR software can be used together with any popular operating system. In addition to recognizing printed characters, OCR also automatically recognizes layouts of columns, as found in the newspapers. It is highly useful because, in combination with ADF, it can automatically convert image data into text format. |
