Image resolution

Defined by the number of displayed picture elements (pixels) per inch (approximately 25.4 mm) in terms of dpi. For instance, 400 dpi represents 400 pixels in the space of one inch. The larger the number of pixels, the finer the details of the image. However, this means a corresponding increase in the data and the time required for processing, as well as in the size of the memory needed to handle the processing.
