Gradation |
Color gradation in nature, ranging from the lightest to the darkest, is seamlessly infinite. However, the computer effectively processes color data in terms of finite grades, the intensity of which is called gradation. For instance, in the case of the GT-5500 scanner, each RGB color can be input in terms of 10 bits respectively. Hence, each of the RGB colors can be represented in 1024 gradations, or 1073741824 colors. The higher the color gradation value is, the finer the details of the image become. More memory is required to process the increasing volume of data. |
