Liquid crystal display |
The liquid crystal display used in laptop computers utilizes a property of liquid crystals whereby transparent dots become opaque when power is applied. The liquid crystals themselves emit no light, so either natural light or a back light is required to make the image visible. |
Color LCDs rely on an array of elements that have filters for each RGB color. Color quality is inferior to that of a CRT display. |
