Purpose and application

Like fashion apparel and accessories, automobiles come with numerous color options. The designer has to choose the best combination for a particular model. This is also useful for the individual who wants a custom paint job for his own car or company car. |

Necessities
|
Prepare a photograph of the car to be painted. Digitize the photograph using an image or film scanner. Use the color manipulation commands of Photoshop to create the differing colors and obtain a printout. You will need a high-quality printer. |

Making it work
|
Use a photograph with the brightest possible body color. Photographs with backlighting or strong sunlight, photos taken at dusk, etc., are unsuitable. If you're confident about your drawing skills, use an illustration as the basis for the simulation. |
