Making color samples

In the fashion and accessories markets, goods come in a wide variety of colors and materials to suit consumer tastes; however, no single shop can carry the full range of goods. Hence, shops need swatch books and sample books.

If only the merchandise materials and colors vary, photographs are probably the easiest means for displaying the items to customers. If your project is limited to digitizing and pasting in several images, word processing software is probably adequate. If you need to adjust the color tone, use Photoshop.

Flat materials such as textiles can be placed directly on an image scanner. In this case, make sure that the material is firmly attached to the artwork holder.
