Making booklets and brochures

A booklet of just a few pages is a useful way of conveying technical information or details about a commercial product. Companies often need to make in-house publications with a small number of pages.

You will need photographs, illustrations, and text, depending on your exact goals. Layout software is the best way to integrate this material. Depending on the size and number of pages, you may want to get a printer that handles folio-size paper.

Trimming the paper to the required size is more difficult than folding it and stapling the pages together. If the finished pages are to be A4 size, print on A3-sized paper and fold it. If you print on both sides, select paper that has nearly the same color on the front and back. If your software does not have an automatic pagination feature, every time you rearrange materials you must manually determine the proper order of the pages for the printout.
