Proper storage

Location unsuited for storing the camera

With the exception of specially designed underwater models, cameras are generally not waterproof. This measn that you need to take every measure necessary to protect the precision electronic components inside the digital camera from humidity. Never store your camera next to air conditioning equipment or humidifiers, or in other places with strong fluctuations in temperature and humidity. Avoid places in the household where water is used. The best solution is the use of a compact dry storage unit. If this is not available, any cool place with good air circulation that is free from dirt is recommended. Even when you're not using the camera, from time to time take it out, make sure that it works, and wipe off any dust with a soft cloth. To prevent leakage of battery fluid, always remove the batteries before long-term storage.
