The position of light changes according to the hour and the season

Photo taken at high noon

Using the changes in the position of the sun effectively can make a great difference in the expressive quality of your photos.

The angle of light, which represents the time or season, can help a picture tell a story. When the sun is overhead, it indicates noon time on a summer day. When the sun hangs low in the sky, we think of winter, or morning or evening.

By using this effectively, the message of the photograph becomes clearer. Or, you can even use it as a means of deception. While it's best to shoot without any artifice, it's also important to anticipate changes in the conditions of the natural light in planning your photo session.
