The scanned image is too bright |
Image that is too bright |
This happens when the brightness (the relative lightness or darkness of the color) is too intense. When the scanner is connected to a DOS computer and the imported image is viewed on a monitor compatible with Macintosh, due to the difference in the gamma value (tone adjustment), the image may frequently appear to be brighter than when viewed on a DOS compatible monitor. |
If you want to darken the image, make the adjustment with image editing software without disturbing the color balance. |
Reducing the brightness darkens the overall image. Hence, lower the tones of the highlight and intermediate colors in Photoshop's Levels dalog box or Curves dialog box. To open these boxes, select Adjust from the Image menu. |
To change the gamma value, move the triangles under the graph in the Levels dialog box. |
