The printed image does not fit neatly onto the output paper |
A printout too small for the paper |
When scanning an image which will ultimately be printed, do not confuse the adjustment of the resolution with that of the print size. Even if you scan an image at the same resolution you will use when printing, if the printout is enlarged, the printed image appears grainy. Follow the instructions below to avoid these problems. |
First, set the resolution for scanning the image. If, when printing, you will use an ink jet or laser printer, set the scanning resolution from one third to one half the resolution you will use when printing. |
Setting the resolution for scanning |
Next, set the scanning range. Make sure that the appropriate printout size is selected. |
Finally, adjust the scale function so that either the scanned image's vertical or horizontal size is enlarged to match the printout size. Also, the printout size must be set by subtracting the margin from the paper size of the printout. |
Set the copy's vertical or horizontal edge on the scale to match the enlarged size of the desired printout. |
