Colors fade when compressed data is printed

When you fail to obtain the desired colors in your printout, check the data format. Depending on the format, the colors may be faded in comparison to the original artwork, or the smoothness of gradations may be lost. The most widely used image data formats are TIFF, GIF, JPG, BMP (Windows), and PICT (Macintosh). We recommend using TIFF. Also BMP and PICT are compressed formats and are relatively stable on their native platforms.

In the Windows environment, the data format is identified by the file name extension. Since name extensions are not always used in the Macintosh environment, the file type must be confirmed by the image processing application.
