Reducing the printing time

High-resolution images can take a long time to print from a color printer.

The resolution of a color printer may vary from 300 to 1400 dpi, but the resolution of the image data does not necessarily need to match the resolution of the printer. In some cases, 140-200 dpi is adequate.

If the printing process takes too much time, make a copy of the image data, lower the resolution, and try printing again.

If the purpose of your printout is to check the content of the image, not the color quality, you can reduce the size of the image, reduce the number of colors, or take other steps to reduce the amount of data that needs to be processed. This should significantly shorten the printing time.

The printer driver setting allow printout time to be shortened. However, this will lead to a deterioration of image quality. With the EPSON Stylus Pro 5000, for example, from the Main menu select Advanced and click More Settings. Then set the printout quality to Normal and select High Speed.

Select Advanced from the Main menu and click "More Settings"

Lower the print quality to Nomal and select High Speed
