Adjusting the skin color

To correct the colors in a color photograph, use image editing software.

Follow the instructions below to adjust the color balance of a photograph with Adobe Photoshop.

Select Adjust from the Image menu and click "Variations." Thumbnail images of the altered photo appear in the Variations Window to facilitate adjustments.

To correct the bright areas, click Highlights; to correct the dark areas, click Shadows; and to correct the overall image, click Midtones.

To change the brilliance of the image, select Saturation.

To make finer adjustments, after selecting Shadows, Midtones or Highlights, use your mouse to drag the triangle slider to the left or right.
