The edges of the principal subjects are unclear

Unclear photo

Sometimes the principal object in the middle of a photograph appears to dissolve into the background, due to the light and the colors at its periphery. This problem may be solved by clarifying its boundary lines, eliminating the intermediate tones in the nearby pixels, and filling the surrounding pixels.

In Photoshop, use the Sharpen feature on the Filter menu. This feature will change all appropriate pixels to create the desired result.
