Enlarged printouts look coarse |
An image that turned coarse when enlarged |
When you enlarge low-resolution images (or an image file containing a smaller amount of data), the printout quality often appears coarse. In order to enlarge an image by a factor of 2 without compromising image quality, you need 4 times as much image data. To make an image 3 times larger than the original, you need 9 times as much data. |
If you want to enlarge the image, select an enlargement factor (1.25 to 1.5) that accomplishes this without making it too coarse. |
