I overheard one of my employees many months ago state
quite emphatically that he hated one of our customers because she
was Jewish. In fact... he then said "I hate all the fucking
Jews". This did not sit particularly well with me as I have
a rather low tolerance for ignorance, bigotry, and that
brain-dead loser mentality that always looks to blame someone
else for the miserable little existences that they have carved
out for themselves. As I rounded the corner and loser-man came
into view I stated loudly "Well (insert loser moniker
here)... I am Jewish... and I hate you too". This was not
one of the managerial skills that I have been taught..... I think
I was kinda winging it here. (sometimes I HATE not being to just
look people in the eye and say "You are a worthless sack of
shit... get out.") Anyway... he quickly shut-up and scurried
away.
Now... it is really difficult to fire people just because you
hate everything about them. Fortunately... this hunk of human
detritus was enough of a zero that it was not to difficult to set
up a "3 strikes and you are out" program to use to
facilitate his removal from my face. It took well over a month
before I sat loser-man down and then canned his ass. Buh bye.
I'm starting to wonder if I'm beginning to get dangerous meself.
It wasn't until months later that I discovered that the rest of
the work force had been very diligent in their efforts not to
offend me or my religion. I was kinda surprised too... cause we
Presbyterians have never really been singled out that much
religious persecution wise, (not recently anyway) which is
cool... because I'm not sure I would be all that good at it.
