| | Joining the Royal Flying Corps, Taylor was posted to 79 Squadron in April 1918. A Sopwith Dolphin pilot, he served with fellow American aces Frederick Gillet and Frederick Lord. In August 1918, Taylor was credited with one Fokker D.VII followed by four German balloons. Killed in action on 24 August 1918, he was shot down by ground fire as he attacked and destroyed his fourth balloon. |
