Joining the Canadian army in 1915, Larsen served with the Field Artillery before transferring to the Royal Flying Corps on 19 October 1916. One of the founding members of 84 Squadron, he was credited with nine victories flying the S.E.5. After the war, he returned to the United States and became an architect.
