Notes
Napier attended Eton before joining the army. He transferred from the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders to the Royal Flying Corps in 1916. Assigned to 40 Squadron, he flew Nieuport scouts and the S.E.5a in combat and served as a liason officer with the French army. After the war, he entered the family shipbuilding business.
