The Date Migration Tools add-in program for Excel 97 and 2000 provides three wizards to help you prepare dates in Excel workbooks for transitioning from earlier versions of Excel or for auditing workbooks for the year 2000. System Requirements

Operating system   The Date Migration Tools run on Windows® 95, Windows 98, and Windows NT® 4.0 or later. The Date Migration Tools do not run on Windows NT 3.51 and earlier systems.

Excel   The tools run on Excel 97 SR-2 or later and Excel 2000. The Date Migration Tools do not run on versions of Excel 97 earlier than SR-2. You can download the SR-2 upgrade for Excel 97 from Office Update; see Office 97 Service Release 2 (SR-2) Fact Sheet.

Installation Instructions

Before you download the Date Migration Tools, make sure you have run Excel at least once on your system, and then exit from Excel.

If a previous version of the Date Migration Tools add-in program is installed on your system, you must unload it before you can install version 2.0. On the Excel Tools menu, click Add-ins, and then clear the check box for Microsoft Excel Date Migration Tools.

  1. You may want to print this page to use as a reference when you are offline.
  2. Click Install Now!
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

If you upgrade from Excel 97 to Excel 2000 after installing the Date Migration Tools, you won't see the Date Migration command on the Excel 2000 Tools menu. You will need to locate and load the add-in program:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Add-ins.
  2. Click Browse, and in the Look in box, click the folder where you installed the Date Migration Tools, by default the DMW subfolder of your Program Files folder.
  3. Click file DMW_97.XLA, and then click OK.
  4. In the Add-Ins dialog box, select the Microsoft Excel Date Migration Tools check box.
Uninstallation Instructions
  1. On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. In the Install/Uninstall list, select Microsoft Excel Date Migration Tools, and then click Add/Remove.
  4. Click Remove All.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Click Finish to complete and exit the installer.
