It is now seven days since Sheridan and Garibaldi's disappearance. The Shadow war has paused and there is a great feeling of change. Londo returns to Centauri Prime to take up his new position as head of Planetary Security, and has a surprise as the Shadows move into their new hiding place. Ivanova and Delenn try desperately to hold the Army of Light together. Ivanova, Delenn and Lyta leave the station to try and locate Sheridan near Z'ha'dum, and Londo begins to conspire with Vir to kill the new Centauri Emperor.

Sheridan begins to plan his escape from Z'ha'dum, refusing to accept Lorien's explanations for his current position. G'kar's search for Mr. Garibaldi takes him far away from the sanctuary of the station. Delenn reveals to the surprised White Star fleet her plans for one final attack on Z'ha'dum. Londo strikes a deal with G'Kar to remove the Centauri Emperor from his position and free the Narn homeworld. Back on Z'ha'dum Sheridan makes a surprising discovery about Lorien, and must now make an important decision that will decide his fate.

The Summoning

Ivanova and Marcus take a White Star in search of the First Ones. Garibaldi is found alive and is returned to the station. Lyta is attacked by Kosh as she tries to scan him in an attempt to reveal his true plans. Ivanova and Marcus stumble on a massive convoy of Vorlon ships moving undetected through hyperspace. Sheridan returns to Babylon 5, but the celebrations are cut short by some terrible news. In an attempt to destroy a Shadow base, the Vorlons have annihilated an entire planet, including its population.

Falling Towards Apotheosis

As a result of the Vorlon's devastating attacks on Shadow bases many colonies have now been destroyed. Sheridan decides that Kosh is now becoming a threat to Babylon 5 and instructs Garibaldi to remove him from the station. When Kosh refuses to leave, Sheridan is forced to trap the Vorlon and attempt to electrocute him. A massive gathering of ships begins as the alliance prepares to attack the Shadows and defend itself against the Vorlons and Sheridan reveals to Delenn the terrible price he must pay for his re-birth.

The Long Night

With Cartagia now on the Narn homeworld, Londo now prepares to assassinate him. Lennier manages to calculate where the Vorlons will strike next. Sheridan plans to lure the Shadows into direct conflict with the Vorlons. To do this, he is forced to send a White Star on a suicide mission, carrying vital information that he needs the shadows to discover. Once again, Ivanova leaves the station on a White Star to try, to locate the remaining First Ones, as they will be needed in the massive conflict which now lies ahead.
