The Moon: Lunar Highlands and lunar Maria 6.2
1600 km wide region of the Moon, centred on the Mare Humorum, showing clearly the distinction between the old, pale and heavily-cratered lunar highlands and the darker, younger and therefore less-cratered lunar maria. Note that craters are harder to make out towards the right, where the Sun was higher in the lunar sky. (Mosaic of Lunar Orbiter 4 images.)
