Additional prizes include Studyabroad.com t-shirts and mouse pads. The sweepstakes will run through December 15.
One of the most interesting aspects of running this sweepstakes is that it allows us to monitor the effectiveness of our various marketing efforts. The sweepstakes form asks students how they first heard of Studyabroad.com. Internet Search Sites came in first followed by on-campus Posters. Next came Studyabroad.com brochures (which were distributed through advisors at more than 500 campuses this year as part of our "advisor kit" promotion).
Several hundred students cited write-ups in university newspapers, magazines and guide books. Some other means for finding us included referrals from: "girlfriend, boyfriend, mother, mommy, step-father, advisor, professor, friend, roommate, and brother." Wow!
The list will be available in a variety of formats. We will announce details to this list when it is available.
Later this month Mark will attend the Region VIII conference in Pittsburgh where he will conduct a pre-conference workshop in which participants will learn to create their own web pages. Mark will also present a session on "Navigating the World-Wide Web" at the same conference.
Mark has also been asked to be a presenter at the CCIS annual conference scheduled for Mexico City in February 1999.
If you will be attending either the Pittsburgh or Mexico City conference, be sure to look Mark up. He would love to meet you.
You can view these and other award patches which we have earned in our "trophy case" on the bottom of the Studyabroad.com home page.
Every day we receive unsolicited general inquiries from students looking for a study abroad program, or looking for advice. These inquiries cover a lot of ground....US students looking for a program abroad...students outside of the US looking for ESL opportunities, all types of students looking for financial aid information, students looking for advice about a particular city...just to name a few.
Once a week, we bundle all of the week's inquiries into a single email message and distribute it to our distribution list. This allows study abroad professionals to help students with their questions and problems and it also allows program recruiters many opportunities to open a dialog with prospective students.
If you would like to receive this weekly distribution, send a message to inquiry_list@studyabroad.com with subscribe as the subject.
The first and most important step is to be sure that the Studyabroad.com database has up-to-date information about your programs. Please submit your new and revised Free Listings online at http://www.studyabroad.com/update
If you would like to know more about online advertising options, including links to your website, check out our media kit at http://www.studyabroad.com/adinfo/
