WHAT'S NEW MILESTONES

We are excited to announce that we have recently reached some milestones. studyabroad.com has now served in excess of 2.5 million pages to more than 500,000 different users. Our system is now supported by more than 200 advertisers, including quite a few new ones this summer (see NEW ADVERTISERS below).

BREAKDOWNS

During the past few months we have been working hard to make our Search-by-Subject and Intensive Language Menus more useful. These directories have been growing as more and more administrators have been supplying us with detailed information about their programs. Some of the subject areas had grown to include hundreds of listings. As a result many of the directories were becoming quite cumbersome.

We have now split a number of the directories into additional, more specific subject areas. We have also broken many of the subject and language directories down by geographic region. This has resulted in smaller, easier to use directories.

As always, we encourage you to review the listings for your programs on-line and make sure that we have current information. You can submit new and revised listings to us on-line at http://www.studyabroad.com/update

In addition to contact information our free listings include host country, city, term(s) offered, subject area(s) offered, and a brief description.

NEW DIRECTORIES

Due to the addition of some new listings to our databases, we have recently added two new directories: Cuba and Bermuda.

LINKS REVISIONS

We have divided our Links To Related Sites area into 3 headings, to better organize this useful resource. Users who visit this page (accessible through the Studyabroad.com Forum) will now find web sites listed under one of these headings:

GRADSCHOOLS.COM

If you offer a matriculated, graduate degree program you should list it with our other webstie, Gradschools.com (http://www.gradschools.com). We accept free listings for this site on-line and advertising links are also available.

Please call Mark Shay at 610-364-0400 and ask about our 50% combination discount available through September when you purchase advertising on studyabroad.com and Gradschools.com.

GEARING UP FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR We are preparing to make a big splash on campuses throughout North America this fall. Our goal is to have every American college student who is interested in studying abroad look to us as their first stop in researching their options.

While our traffic through the summer has been quite strong (about double what it was last summer), we are working hard to make sure that students can't miss us when they start shopping for a study abroad or language program this year.

We are in the process of mailing 500 Adviser Kits. These kits include our user guides, holders and posters. Many of these are going out to advisors who signed up with us at the Vancouver NAFSA Conference.

We will also do our largest poster campaign ever this fall, distributing more than 50,000 studyabroad.com posters through professional poster placement firms throughout the United States and Canada. Look for these posters on your campus!

In addition, we will soon be distributing a press release announcing our annual fall sweepstakes in which we will once again give away a round-trip air fare to help a student get to his or her study abroad destination. In past years we have received press in dozens of publications as a result of this promotion.

We are also, as always, working on fine-tuning our pages to try to optimize our placement on the major search engines, as well as working out strategic links to help build traffic.

AND THE WINNER IS

Congratulations to Robert Brzozowski of SUNY-Oneonta. Bob won the much sought after studyabroad.com golf shirt which we gave away through a random drawing at the NAFSA Conference.

INQUIRY DISTRIBUTION LIST

Here's another quick reminder about our General Inquiry Distribution List, which is sent on a weekly basis. This e-mail distribution list is a compilation of the general inquiries received by studyabroad.com from individuals looking for information regarding study abroad and language programs. On average there are about 10 inquiries per week. The inquiries cover a wide range of interests, including U.S. students looking for programs abroad and students outside of the U.S. looking for programs in the States. Sometimes the inquires are general and sometimes quite specific. While the list is free, the catch is that you need to read through the inquires to find those which are applicable to you.

Those who subscribe to the list have the opportunity to help prospective students in need of information, as well as to potentially recruit students for their own programs. We do this as a service to our users.

If you are interested in receiving this distribution list, please send e-mail to webmaster@studyabroad.com, with "subscribe" as the subject. There is no fee for receiving this distribution, nor are you required to be a studyabroad.com advertiser.
