Question: |
Many years ago, a chess book dealer (I cannot recall
now) told me, after I had purchased the set of Ernest Grünfeld’s two
volume opening book Taschenbuch der Eroffnung im Schach, that
Grünfeld had also written an endgame book. The manuscript had
never been published - but it was in the hands of Lothar Schmidt (?) who
was going to have it published. Apparently, the endgame book was
prepared in great detail and Grünfeld’s intention was to author a
definitive endgame work. Grünfeld annotated more with moves
than actual words. |
As Grünfeld was noted for his encyclopedic
and voluminous knowledge of openings, this work on the endgame is intriguing.
Does anyone know what became of this proposed endgame publication?
Does anyone know what became of the famous Grünfeld opening library
and opening scrolls? |
